Elon Musk, the owner of the social network X, announced the launch of a messenger called XChat. At the same time, a phone number will not be required for registration.
XChat is built using the Rust programming language, Musk said. The messenger will have end-to-end “bitcoin-style encryption,” and will allow users to exchange disappearing messages, any type of file, and make audio and video calls.
