We recently reported that Russian studio Owlcat Games was teasing a strange space game — insiders claimed that it was a game adaptation of The Expanse. They were right: the developers published a video dedicated to the new title.
Owlcat Games has announced The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, an action RPG set in the world of The Expanse. The first shots are reminiscent of Mass Effect: a third-person view, futuristic settlements in space, staged cinematic scenes — all the paraphernalia is in place, including a storyline in which a hero created in the editor will assemble a team of allies and uncover a planetary-scale conspiracy.
The authors note that a great emphasis is placed on partners: their personal stories will be important, and relationships can either strengthen or deteriorate as the game progresses. As for the combat part, two companions will be allowed to be taken with you on the landing, while the rest will help remotely – hack systems, distract enemies, and so on. You will have to fight opponents in real time.
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, there is no exact release date yet. The game page has already appeared on Steam.
