Desktop GeForce RTX 5050 Introduced: 8GB Memory and a Normal Power Cable

Following the mobile GeForce RTX 5050, NVIDIA has also introduced a desktop version of the graphics card.
It has become the most affordable model in the current series to support DLSS 4 technology, which helps reduce the system requirements of modern games. In addition, the new GPU features a kind of “immunity” to the infamous melting power cable issue.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Specifications

The RTX 5050 features:

  • 2,560 CUDA cores

  • A GPU with a base clock speed of 2.31 GHz (up to 2.57 GHz in Boost mode)

  • 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory

  • 128-bit memory bus (320 GB/s bandwidth)

  • TDP (thermal design power) of 130 W

Importantly, it uses a standard 8-pin power connector, avoiding the problematic 12-pin cable associated with overheating in previous models.

The reference design includes one HDMI port and three DisplayPort outputs. Its AI performance is rated at 421 TOPS (trillions of operations per second).

Pricing and Availability

The GeForce RTX 5050 is priced at $249 in the U.S., making it $50 cheaper than the RTX 5060. According to NVIDIA’s official website, the card will be available in the second half of July.
