Recently, rumors began to circulate on the Internet that Nintendo is banning Nintendo Switch 2 consoles because their owners use MIG Flash flash cartridges . As it turns out, the company reserves the right to punish its customers not only for piracy, but also for their nicknames.
Recently, Funaoe24, a Reddit user, shared an interesting story : allegedly, his Switch 2 was permanently “bricked” because it contained an account named Twink Link (the account was created by the victim’s sister). The gamer contacted the support service, but they did not help him: even the corporation itself cannot lift the ban. As a result, he had to return the device to the store .
It is worth noting that there is no clear evidence for this story: the player who allegedly got into trouble because of his nickname only showed a photo with a ban notice, but nothing more, and the corporation did not comment on the situation from its side. However, the Internet community was still concerned about the post: the Nintendo of America community guidelines really do contain a line prohibiting unacceptable and indecent nicknames. It’s just that no one suspected that the publisher was ready to punish people so harshly for such insignificant pranks.
