SteelSeries Launches Updated Rival 3 Gen 2 Gaming Mice

Danish computer peripherals manufacturer SteelSeries has announced the release of the Rival 3 Gen 2 series of gaming mice. The primary updates focus on the internal electronics of both the wired and wireless versions, while their external designs remain largely unchanged from their predecessors.

The wired SteelSeries Rival 3 Gen 2 utilizes the TrueMove optical sensor, co-developed by SteelSeries and PixArt, offering a resolution of up to 8,500 DPI. It boasts a response delay of 1.35 ms and features Teflon feet for enhanced gliding. The mechanical microswitches are rated for up to 60 million clicks. A notable aesthetic feature is the SteelSeries Prism RGB backlighting that runs along the lower edge of the mouse’s body. The wired model weighs 77 grams.

The wireless Rival 3 Gen 2 Wireless Series distinguishes itself from the wired version with a slightly increased response time of 1.9 ms and the implementation of the True Move Air sensor, which offers a higher DPI of up to 18,000 and 50G acceleration. Connectivity to a PC is achieved via Bluetooth 5.0 or a USB dongle. The wireless mouse weighs 106 grams with an installed AAA battery or a similarly sized rechargeable battery. Battery life is rated for up to 200 hours using the wireless dongle and up to 450 hours when connected via Bluetooth.
