Toyota Unveils All-New Hybrid-Only RAV4 Lineup

Toyota has introduced the completely redesigned sixth-generation RAV4 crossover, making a significant shift to an exclusively hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain lineup. The new model range is segmented into three distinct lines: Core, Rugged, and Sport, each offering a unique flavor of the popular SUV.

Buyers will have a choice of three electrified powertrains: a front-wheel drive hybrid producing 226 horsepower, an all-wheel drive hybrid generating 236 horsepower, and a powerful all-wheel drive PHEV boasting 320 horsepower and an impressive 50-mile electric driving range. A notable feature of the PHEV models is their rapid charging capability, allowing a charge from 10 to 80% in just 30 minutes. This enhanced charging speed is facilitated by more efficient silicon carbide inverters and a larger battery pack across the hybrid range.

In the sportier GR Sport version, Toyota has focused on enhancing the driving dynamics with an improved suspension and steering system, complemented by a microfiber-trimmed interior for a more premium feel.

The new RAV4 is equipped with the Arene software platform, which underpins the advanced driver assistance systems of Toyota Safety Sense 4.0 and a user-friendly multimedia system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
