The “Racing” OnePlus Ace 5 with Dimensity 9400e and 7100 mAh Battery Costs Only $249

New OnePlus smartphones, the Ace 5 Ultra and Ace 5 Racing Edition, have been announced in China. Both models are relatively inexpensive but boast powerful processors, high-refresh-rate screens, and large batteries with fast charging.

The higher-end OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra model features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The maximum brightness reaches 1400 nits. The core of the smartphone is the 3-nm MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor with a clock speed of up to 3.73 GHz. It’s complemented by the Lingxi chip, which enhances display responsiveness, and a dedicated Wi-Fi G1 module to reduce latency.

The device is cooled by a 7,300 mm² vapor chamber and an additional heat sink on the back cover. The 6,700 mAh battery supports 100-watt charging and a bypass power mode to prevent overheating during gaming. Similar to the OnePlus 13T, there’s a new quick access button for the camera, translator, flashlight, and other smartphone functions.

The main camera is a 50-megapixel sensor based on the Sony IMX906 with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. There’s also an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. Video recording is supported up to 4K at 60 fps.

The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Ultra version. It uses a simpler processor – the Dimensity 9400e (4 nm) with a frequency of up to 3.4 GHz. The smartphone has a slightly smaller 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1300 nits.

The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition also employs a 7,000 mm² vapor chamber, and the total area of the entire cooling system is nearly 30,000 mm². The battery in the “racing” version is larger at 7,100 mAh but supports 80 W charging. The cameras are somewhat simpler: a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel monochrome auxiliary sensor. The front camera remains the same at 16 MP.
