AAEON Releases Powerful Single-Board Computer with Intel Core i7 Processor

Single-board computers are usually equipped with low-power processors like Rockchip or Broadcom. AAEON has decided to break this tradition with its new product called de next-RAP8. With modest dimensions of 86×55 mm, the microcomputer offers productive Intel chips up to the 13th generation Core i7.

Depending on the modification, the new product is equipped with an Intel Core i3-1315UE, Core i5-1335UE or Core i7-1365UE processor (TDP up to 15 W), and the maximum amount of LPDDR5X RAM is 16 GB. The board has an M.2 slot for SSD, Wi-Fi module or 4G modem, as well as an FPC connector on the PCIe x4 Gen 3 bus. Other devices can be connected via GPIO, and peripherals – via RS-232/422/485 and USB 2.0.

The interface set also includes two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Ethernet (2.5 and 1 Gbps), as well as HDMI 1.2a, SATA and eDP 1.4. Additionally, the board can be equipped with an SMBus/I2C connector. In addition, the new product supports proprietary AAEON modules (for example, to accelerate AI computing).

The computer is designed for integration into various systems: robots, industrial equipment, etc. The price of AAEON de next-RAP8 in the US is $750, $867, and $1267 for the version with a Core i3-1315UE, i5-1335UE, and i7-1365UE processor, respectively.
