Research firm Jon Peddie Research has published the results of its study of the computer components market for the first quarter of 2025. According to the report, NVIDIA continues to increase its position in the video card segment, while Intel is dropping out of the competition altogether.
Analysts report that in the first quarter of this year, shipments of graphics adapters amounted to 9.2 million units. NVIDIA’s market share during the period increased by 8.5%, reaching 92%. AMD, on the contrary, lost 7.3% and currently holds only 8% of the market. Intel’s figures are even more deplorable (-1.2% and a complete loss of any significant positions).
Experts explain the success of the “greens” by the release of a large number of models in the GeForce RTX 50 series in the first quarter of 2025. In turn, AMD introduced new models based on the RDNA 4 architecture. But Intel, although it introduced its new products back in the fourth quarter of last year, was still unable to improve its position in the consumer market.
Overall, the GPU market (including integrated solutions) saw shipments in the first quarter decline by 12% year-on-year.
