Ahead of the upcoming WWDC conference, Apple shared statistics on the distribution of the current operating systems iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. At the same time, the manufacturer revealed data on the popularity of previous versions of both OSs today.
According to official data, iOS 18 is installed on 88% of iPhones introduced over the past four years, while overall 82% of supported devices have already switched to the current firmware. Only 8% of the “surveyed” gadgets are running iOS 17.
In turn, iPadOS 18 is installed on 81% of tablets released in the last four years, and in general on the market, the firmware has “flown” onto 71% of all active devices of the American brand.

The company explains such high popularity rates of the latest versions of iOS and iPadOS by the long period of support for its devices, as well as regular releases of updates that eliminate vulnerabilities and errors in the software.
