Beloved Child: Dying Light’s Major Update Announced

Every studio has a favorite game. Techland, for example, loves Dying Light – even after the release of its sequel and just before the release of the de facto threequel, it is still polishing the dynamic zombie action.

The company recently announced Retouched, a large-scale graphical update for the 2015 title. The free update (not a remaster!) is designed to replace old textures with fresh, higher-quality ones, and add additional quality settings to the action movie, in particular, “ultra” shadows in 8K resolution. Artists re-drew each asset manually.

In addition to the visuals, Techland also took on the task of improving the soundtrack of their hit – for example, the team decided to improve the effects so that the action would feel even more delicious. The studio also turned to the original composer Pawel Blaszczak for help, so that he could once again conjure up the soundtrack and properly remaster it.

Retounched is set to launch on June 26, with a patch coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Dying Light: The Beast, the third installment in the zombie saga, is set to release on August 22.
