Full Speed Ahead: PC Overtakes Consoles as Capcom’s Primary Platform

It wasn’t long ago that major game studios often prioritized consoles over PCs, which had a smaller active user base. However, this trend is shifting, a fact clearly recognized by Capcom.

In their latest financial report, Capcom illustrated the change in game sales across various platforms over the past five years. In 2020, console sales reached 15.15 million copies, while PC sales lagged behind at 8 million. Now, the PC platform has taken a significant lead, with 28.211 million copies sold compared to 18.517 million on consoles.

The company attributes this substantial growth to its efforts in expanding the availability of its game library on PC. In recent years, Capcom has actively worked to broaden the regions and systems where PC gamers can purchase their titles.
