Some Google users are noticing a surprising change on the search engine’s homepage — and it looks like a well-known feature might soon be a thing of the past.
According to reports, the iconic “I’m Feeling Lucky” button — which instantly takes users to the top search result without showing the search results page — has disappeared for some. In its place, Google appears to be testing a new “AI Mode” button. This feature allows users to interact with an experimental chatbot that helps clarify or expand on their search queries.
Interestingly, not all users are seeing the same interface. Some have been redirected to a different version of the homepage, where AI Mode is built into the search bar, but the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button is still present. This suggests that Google may be testing multiple design layouts before deciding on a final update.
As of now, it’s unclear which version — if any — will become the default. But the shift seems to signal Google’s growing focus on AI-powered search experiences, possibly at the expense of long-standing features that have defined its interface for decades.
