Insta360 has introduced the Flow 2, a simplified version of the Flow 2 Pro stabilizer. It is $50 cheaper, but supports almost the same set of functions of the more advanced model – however, the new product still has some differences from the older version.
Insta360 Flow 2 is designed to stabilize video when shooting on iPhone and Android smartphones, and can also be transformed into a selfie stick and a small tripod. The main difference from the “pro” is a smaller range of motion:
- Panning: -210° to 120° vs 360°.
- Rotation: -207° to 123° vs -390–135°.
- Tilt: -99° to 231° (same).
The maximum motion compensation speed is 120°/s, and Bluetooth 5.0 is used to communicate with a smartphone. The accessory body has buttons for controlling the gadget’s camera along with the SmartWheel controller. The declared autonomy, like that of the older model, is up to 10 hours.
The new product supports the active zoom tracking function, but it does not have such features of the older version as 360-degree rotation following a moving person, a selfie mirror and a free rotation mode. In addition, the new product is not compatible with Apple DockKit – a function that allows the stabilizer to direct the iPhone to an object in the frame without additional applications.
The price of Insta360 Flow 2 is $110, and together with a module for tracking moving objects in the frame for any smartphone – $130.
