Overclocker Peter Massman has set a new world record in the discipline of overclocking a graphics processor. Remarkably, he managed to do this not with another NVIDIA flagship, but with a much more modest video core integrated into the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K.
As a result of the experiment, the “integrated” Intel Xe2-LPG 64EU was overclocked to 4.25 GHz, surpassing the result of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 (4.2 GHz), which previously held the top spot in this discipline. The enthusiast achieved such impressive results thanks to a well-chosen combination of operating voltage and cooling using liquid nitrogen. The CPU temperature at the time of setting the record was -170°C at 1.7 V.
Initially, the record was set in preparation for the Computex 2025 exhibition, and then the overclocker simply repeated the previously achieved result. At the same time, in the 3DMark and FurMark databases, it was only possible to record frequencies of 4.2 and 4.1 GHz, respectively, since it was not possible to maintain the higher figure for a sufficient amount of time for benchmarks.
