April 2025 ended poorly for rally racing fans – EA officially put its EA Sports WRC series on hold. However, things are looking brighter for Nacon.
The French publisher has signed a contract with WRC Promoter to produce rally simulators under license from the World Rally Championship. The exclusive rights to develop and publish will cover the 2027 to 2032 seasons.
It’s worth noting that Nacon has previously created racing games under the WRC brand, with the latest, WRC Generations, released in November-December 2022. The company plans to revive the series, making it approachable for newcomers while still engaging for genre veterans. The games will feature official championship stages, as well as licensed cars, teams, and drivers, along with sponsors. The release date and the complete list of platforms are yet to be announced.
