Yandex has announced the launch of sales for its new Bluetooth speaker, the Station Street, positioned as the first portable smart speaker in Russia to support an AI assistant. The manufacturer has also revealed the new product’s retail price and highlighted its key features.
You can take the Station Street with Alice anywhere – for picnics, on trips, or to workouts. Importantly, this portable smart speaker retains all the functionalities of stationary models with Alice, including the ability to control smart home devices even without an internet connection.
If you connect the speaker to a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, it will not only play your favorite tracks but also find information on the internet, set a timer, assist with other household tasks, and even engage in dialogue on various topics.
The new Station Street can also function as a standard wireless speaker when paired with a smartphone. This is particularly convenient when relaxing outdoors or exercising – you don’t need to take out your phone or physically approach the speaker to press a button. Instead, you can simply say “next,” “louder,” or, for example, “stop.” The ability to execute quick commands offline is an exclusive feature of Yandex’s portable smart speakers.
The Station Street boasts an audio output of 30 W. Its design features two speakers and two passive radiators. Thanks to special algorithms, the built-in microphones analyze sound reflection from surfaces, enabling the speaker to automatically detect its environment (outdoors or indoors) and activate the optimal sound mode. Within the “Home with Alice” application, users can also manually select “Indoor” or “Street” mode and adjust the equalizer.
The new product also supports a “Play Everywhere” mode. This feature will be useful for those who want to listen to the same playlist with friends across a large space, such as a sports ground. To activate this, simply connect two Station Street speakers to a single account via a Wi-Fi access point and say, “Alice, play everywhere.”
The declared autonomy of the Station Street in playback mode is up to 12 hours when connected to a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot or in Bluetooth mode. To avoid being left without music unexpectedly, you can check the indicator on the Station’s body, within the application, or ask, “Alice, how much charge is left?”
Another important feature of the speaker is its durable IP67-rated housing. If moisture is detected in the connectors, Alice will prompt you to dry the device. A removable strap is also included in the kit, making it easy to carry the speaker by hand or attach it to a backpack.
The Station Street is already available for purchase in Alice’s official store, and it will appear in major retail chains within a week. The recommended retail price for the smart speaker is 14,990 rubles.
