Rogbid Releases Inexpensive Smart Glasses With Photochromic Lenses

Chinese company Rogbid has started global sales of its first smart glasses, the Rogbid GS380. They resemble a regular sunglass with chameleon lenses, but when paired with a smartphone, they support a number of useful smart functions.

Unlike AR headsets, the new product is not equipped with displays. It “communicates” with the outside world using a camera with a flash, and with the owner — through built-in stereo speakers and microphones. For example, you can dictate a note, give a command to an AI assistant, use real-time text translation, or recognize an object in front of your eyes. The gadget is activated using a touch pad on the right temple.

The glasses can count steps, calories burned, distance traveled, and also synchronize data with a smartphone app. In addition, you can use the device as a wireless headset or audio player. As an option, you can order glasses with diopters. The declared autonomy is up to 3 phone calls or continuous music playback.

The Rogbid GS380 is priced at $99 in the US.
