Samsung Announces Portable 32-Inch E-Ink Color Display

Samsung has introduced the Color E-Paper EM32DX color monitor with an electronic ink matrix and a built-in battery. In addition to its high resolution, it is notable for its smart features and impressive battery life.

The new product is positioned as a business-class device, which is proposed to be used as an advertising sign, a pointer in a shopping center, or in other similar scenarios. The resolution of the 32-inch E-Ink Spectra 6 panel is 2560×1440 pixels. The display consumes energy only when changing the picture: according to the manufacturer, on one charge of the 4600 mAh battery, the display will work up to 500 days, depending on the load.

The device weighs 2.5 kg and is 17.9 mm thick. There are two USB-C ports for charging and displaying images, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules for remote access via the Samsung E-Paper app for Android and iOS. In addition, support for the Samsung VXT (Visual eXperience Transformation) platform and the Tizen Enterprise API is declared. The display will go on sale in the US market in mid-June at a price of $1,350.
