Thermal Grizzly has announced the WireView PRO II adapter designed for GeForce graphics cards utilizing 12VHPWR and 12V-2×6 power connectors. This compact device aims to protect power cables from melting, extending its safeguarding capabilities to the power supply side as well.
The Thermal Grizzly WireView PRO II acts as an intermediary, connecting between the power supply and the video card’s power input. This strategic placement allows the adapter to actively monitor crucial parameters such as power consumption, operating voltage, and temperature at individual cable contacts. Should the device detect abnormal readings indicative of potential issues, it can not only alert the user to the detected problems but also trigger an automatic shutdown of the entire computer system. This critical safety feature requires a connection to the PC’s power button via a specialized adapter.
The WireView PRO II was showcased at Computex 2025, generating considerable interest in its potential to mitigate the well-documented issues of power connector failures and cable melting on high-end NVIDIA graphics cards. While the adapter was demonstrated, Thermal Grizzly has yet to release detailed specifications and pricing information for the product. However, its appearance on the component market is anticipated before the end of this year, promising a hardware-based solution for enhanced GPU power safety and monitoring.
