Wonderful Far Away. The Legend of Zelda Film Adaptation Has Been Delayed

Following the huge success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Nintendo quickly announced a film based on the role-playing epic The Legend of Zelda. It seemed like the legendary company was following the mantra of “strike while the iron is hot,” but it was not to be.

Game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, the “father” of Mario, shared disappointing news: the premiere of the Zelda film adaptation has been postponed by a month and a half. The film was originally supposed to be released on March 26, 2027, but plans have changed – now its launch is scheduled for May 7. Miyamoto explained the delay by the desire to make the highest quality film possible.

Unfortunately, very little is known about the adaptation of The Legend of Zelda: only that Nintendo and Sony Pictures have taken on the production, and Wes Ball (Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom) will be the director. It is not yet clear who will play Link and Princess Zelda – the authors do not talk about the casting.
