Xiaomi’s New Fingernail-Sized Xring O1 Chip Rivals Top Competitors, Features Old Logo

Following the unveiling of Xiaomi’s 3-nanometer Xring O1 System-on-Chip (SoC), reviews are now being published. Tech analysis group Geek Bay disassembled the chip and discovered a miniature, older Xiaomi logo etched in the lower left corner.

A magnified image revealed that the logo is the pre-2021 square design. Xiaomi officially transitioned to a rounder logo, designed by Kenya Hara, on March 30, 2021. The presence of the older logo on the Xring O1 suggests that the chip’s design phase commenced before this rebranding.

According to die analysis by DieShot, the Xring O1 boasts a compact core area of 109 mm², approximately 1 square centimeter, and contains 19 billion transistors. This smaller footprint distinguishes it from competitors like the Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Extreme.

Despite its size, the Xring O1 achieves an impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of 3 million points. This result surpasses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by 10%, indicating strong performance capabilities for Xiaomi’s in-house chip. The chip features a 10-core CPU (2x Cortex-X925, 4x Cortex-A725, 2x Cortex-A725, 2x Cortex-A520) and a 16-core Immortalis-G925 GPU, along with a dedicated NPU for AI tasks. It’s expected to debut in the Xiaomi 15S Pro and Pad 7 Ultra.
