ZTE has expanded its smartphone lineup with the introduction of the Axon 50. Notably, the manufacturer opted for a processor released three years ago. Despite this, the new device features a distinctive “old-school” design reminiscent of older Samsung Galaxy Note models, a camera system with optical zoom, and a thoroughly modern display offering smooth visuals.
The ZTE Axon 50 is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen featuring curved edges, a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. According to the manufacturer, the display boasts a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m².
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 512 GB UFS 3.1 storage drive. The main camera has a resolution of 64 MP and uses the Sony IMX787 sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). It is complemented by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a macro function and a zoom module also with a 50-megapixel resolution, offering three-fold optical zoom.
The battery capacity of the smartphone is 5000 mAh, with support for 80-watt fast charging. Another notable feature of the new product is a built-in IR port for controlling household appliances. The price of the ZTE Axon 50 in China is $250. As of now, there has been no announcement regarding the availability of this new product in other countries.
